Why Rainforests? 
Half of the world’s rainforests have disappeared within the last 50 years. Rainforests are an essential climate solution, absorbing our carbon dioxide, cooling the climate, giving home to half of Earth’s biodiversity, and sustaining over a billion people with food, freshwater, and medicine.

How We Protect Rainforests
Rainforest Partnership works with local people to create sustainable economies and conservation areas. By collaborating with every level of government, we also add a layer of legal support that ensures enduring rainforest protection. 

Founded on principles of collaboration and respect, we tailor project solutions to the unique needs, culture, and capabilities of each partner community and their ecosystem ― integrating both scientific and indigenous knowledge.

Where We Work
Since 2007, we have helped nearly 50 rainforest communities protect over 1 million acres of tropical forest in Ecuador and Peru. Our projects focus on key biodiversity hotspots in the Western Amazon, the Tropical Andes, and Pacific tropical forests of Peru and Ecuador. 

Our Impact in 2020
Rainforest Partnership conserved and better protected 1,324,485 acres of rainforests in 2020 by working in direct partnership with 14 indigenous and many more local communities, 5 protected areas, 3 regional governments in Peru and many other partners. 
Our work benefited 550,612 people across 6 regions of Peru, 2 provinces of Ecuador and across 3 ecosystems: the Tropical Andes Biodiversity Hotspot, the Western Amazon Rainforest, and the Pacific Tropical Forest. We engaged people around the world across all six populated continents through our Films for the Forest and World Rainforest Day initiatives.
