Coalition for Rainforest Nations (CfRN)

July 2023: RC Forward has made changes to how it operates. Fundraising is paused for most campaigns. We advise donors to give tax-effectively if possible while prioritizing impact over tax benefits. Coalition for Rainforest Nations (CfRN) assists governments, communities, and peoples in tropical nations to conserve their rainforests. Healthy rainforests protect against a changing climate, generate needed biodiversity, and provide safe habitats. Due to CfRN’s innovative leadership, around 90% of the world’s remaining rainforests are now included under the United Nation’s REDD+ mechanism to incentivize conservation.

About this charity

The Coalition for Rainforest Nations (CfRN) seeks responsible stewardship of the world’s last great rainforests, through innovative strategies that integrate social, economic, and scientific rationales to achieve environmental sustainability.

CfRN develops policy and tools that both endeavour to achieve sustainability for forested and adjacent agricultural lands, and serve the following functions:

  • Manage tropical rainforest areas in support of climate stability, biodiversity conservation, sustainable development and poverty alleviation
  • Improve the living standards of people living in forested areas
  • Guarantee the long-term security of these people’s living standards
  • Set a precedent for other similarly forested countries
