Donate With GiveWell's Recommendations

GiveWell is a nonprofit dedicated to finding outstanding giving opportunities and publishing the full details of its analysis to help donors decide where to give.

GiveWell doesn’t focus solely on financials, such as assessing administrative or fundraising costs. Instead, it conducts in-depth research to determine how much good a given program accomplishes (in terms of lives saved, lives improved, etc.) per dollar spent. Rather than rating as many charities as possible, GiveWell focuses on the few charities that stand out most (by its criteria) in order to find and confidently recommend high-impact giving opportunities.

Medicine to prevent malaria

Malaria kills over 600,000 people annually, mostly children under 5 in sub-Saharan Africa. Seasonal malaria chemoprevention is preventive medicine that saves children’s lives. It is given during the four months of the year when malaria infection rates are especially high.

GiveWell has identified Malaria Consortium’s Seasonal Malaria Chemoprevention Program as a top organization in this area.

Malaria kills over 600,000 people annually, mostly children under 5 in sub-Saharan Africa. Nets save lives. Participants hang the nets and sleep under them so they are not bitten by malaria-carrying mosquitoes.

GiveWell has identified Against Malaria Foundation as a top organization in this area.

Vitamin A deficiency leaves children vulnerable to infections and can lead to death. GiveWell attributes over 200,000 children’s deaths to vitamin A deficiency each year. This program saves lives by providing vitamin A supplements to children under 5 years old.

GiveWell has identified Helen Keller International’s vitamin A supplementation program as a top organization in this area.

Cash incentives for routine childhood vaccines

In Nigeria, 43% of infants did not receive all recommended childhood vaccines in 2019. This program provides cash transfers to incentivize caregivers to bring babies to clinics for routine childhood vaccinations. It operates in North West Nigeria.

GiveWell has identified New Incentives as a top organization in this area.

Support GiveWell's Giving Funds

GiveWell offers multiple giving funds for donors with different preferences, and strongly believes each of these options is a very impactful way to give. RC Forward offers Canadian donors options to direct their donations according to GiveWell’s various funds.

Direct your donation according to GiveWell's Top Charities Fund

GiveWell’s Top Charities Fund supports the highest-priority funding needs among its top charities.

For donors in Canada, the RC Forward Global Health Fund and the RC Forward Human Empowerment Fund both direct donations according to GiveWell’s Top Charities Fund.

Direct your donation according to GiveWell's All Grants Fund

The All Grants Fund supports GiveWell’s grantmaking to high-impact opportunities.

For donors in Canada, follow these 2 steps to direct your donation according to this fund: (1) Start a donation on our main RC Forward GiveWell page, then (2) while donating, write “GiveWell’s All Grants Fund” in the “Message for RC Forward Administrator” field on Page 2 of our donation form. If you’re unsure, just email donations (at) for assistance.

Direct your donation according to GiveWell's Unrestricted Fund

Donations to GiveWell’s unrestricted fund can be spent on any GiveWell priority, including grantmaking and its own operating expenses.

By default, donations made on our main RC Forward GiveWell page are directed to GiveWell’s unrestricted fund.
